Rock of Montanino Collemontanino Casciana Spa-Note: the rock is about 1 km from Via del Poggio, agriculture in the village, the road that leads to the ruins is unpaved and not accessible. It is advisable to follow it on foot. The mighty castle, the ancient fortress of which only a few ruins, is located near Collemontanino, a hamlet located on the slopes of a hill located south of Casciana Terme. The castle took important strategic function due to the dominance of the hills on the border between the valley and the Era of Cascina and has long represented the ultimate jurisdiction of the diocese of Lucca. The road that leads through the old fort the small farming town of Collemontanino, called Poggio, which keeps unchanged the characteristics of the village.
